Sisters and brothers,
Our beloved friend and comrade Julio Rodriguez was arrested today 4/17/10 in Downtown Los Angeles, while protesting against white supremacy, by the LAPD. For those of you who do not know Julio he has been involved with Communities For A Better Environment Huntington Park, Anarchist Black Cross Guadalajara, Nahuatl education in Brown communities, and most recently helped organize the April 10th event to raise funds for Oso Blanco and the children of Chiapas. He is being held on the trumped up charge of “Assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer or fireman,” which is a felony. His court date is Tuesday 4/20/10; his bail is 50,000 dollars, and he is currently in the LAPD Parker Center, located at 150 N. Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA. His booking number is #2301368. Tomorrow, Sunday, 4/18/10, visiting hours are from 10-12 and 1-3 pm. I will be able to make at least two trips to visit him tomorrow and one on Monday, if anyone has a government issued ID and wants to carpool, please contact me at MapachinABC@ gmail.com . It is crucial that as Anarchists, anti-imperialists, anti-racists, and anti-fascists we support our friend behind enemy lines, as well as his family, offering our aid in any way possible. Information Withheld in the Trial of Ramsey Muniz
Dear Friends:
The attached letter from Ramsey Muñiz was submitted to Ronald R. Rodgers, Pardon Attorney in an application for a Commutation of Sentence (pardon) addressed to President Barack Obama. The application was mailed on April 2, 2010, which was Good Friday.
Also attached is a letter from Rosa Rosales, President of National LULAC. Ms. Rosales and representatives of other organizations have written to President Obama requesting an immediate Commutation of Sentence for Ramsey Muñiz - a man who made great contributions during the Chicano Civil Rights Movement.
Ramsey Muñiz was denied a fair trial in a 1994 conviction that placed him in prison for life without parole. During the trial, government attorneys maliciously and intentionally withheld information from defense attorney Dick DeGuerin under the Brady rule, until it was too late. The information would have revealed Donacio Medina as the primary conspirator. The judge refused to issue a subpoena of motel records which would have revealed Danny Hernandez as the co-conspirator. (Trial transcript pages 1144 -1147).
Additionally, the DEA allowed Donacio Medina, who had made an illegal transaction with them, to go free so that he would not be present during the trial. (Trial transcript pages 1159 - 1161).
PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS which prove that Ramsey Muñiz, now 67 years of age, has been incarcerated for seventeen years for a crime committed by a man that the government allowed to go free. The time to free Ramsey Muñiz is now!
Those who wish to help may forward correspondence to their congressmen, and members of LULAC, MALDEF, the American GI Forum, attorneys, and other organizations whose assistance can free an innocent man. Xip Xop oaXaca (Centro Cultural de Mexico and Ukla/UCLA)
"Xip Xop oaXaca" (50 Minutes) Hip Hop is alive and well today all over the world. This film is just another piece of evidence that by taking back identity, territory and community, Hip Hop can be part of a movement for hood liberation. In Oaxaca City, Mexico we see one more city in which young people continue to speak truth to power, through Hip Hop.

On April 10th there will be an event to raise funds for Oso Blanco and schoolchildren in Chiapas. Oso is a Cherokee/Choctaw political prisoner who was expropriating funds from banks in1999 before capture and in 2001 after his escape from prison. He used the funds from the bank expropriations to support the Zapatistas rebels (EZLN) and Mayan children in EZLN communities in the Mexican state of Chiapas.
Since his latest capture in February 2001 Oso has continued to support for Native struggle, and has become an advocate for Native Rights within the prison community as well. As a result he has been targeted for his political views and subjected to isolation, beatings, and torture. Aside from being denied visitors, phone calls, and many times even mail; he was tortured by guards in Lewisburg prison in both November and June of 2009. Because of these types of abuses we would also like to raise awareness and concerns for the conditions of political prisoners in the United States, including Oso Blanco.
The event will feature music, art, poetry, vendors, and political prisoner support outlets for the benefit of indigenous struggle. Workshops on indigenous and prisoner movements in North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico) will be held as well as know your rights trainings and other informative sessions on how to support political prisoners. Profit gained from the event will be split to benefit Oso Blanco’s legal defense and children in Chiapas.

The Native Youth Movement (NYM) is Native Peoples Liberation Movement, fighting for our People, our Land, and our way of Life.The Native Youth Movement is in the midst of becoming a Grand Council of Young and Old (Veteran/Battle Tested) Warriorz alike. A Warriorz Society with the Young Warriorz serving as the Physical protectors, and the O.G.s (Original Guerrillas) as the Advisor Warriorz, giving direction through lessons, age old teachings, previous battles, and from the Spirits and our Ancestors, who have passed on this responsibility of defending our Indian way.
